The Art of Porcelain Painting

Livermore Art Association member Eugenia Zobel was recently featured in the January issue of the Art & Entertainment Magazine.

Eugenia has been an active member of the LAA for many years and co-chairs Art in the Vineyard, a popular spring art event at Wente Brothers on Tesla Road in Livermore.

Eugenia’s special skill allows her to complete and sell 200 porcelain pieces a year. She paints vases, bowls, plates, tea sets and lovely little boxes. Most of her pieces are painted with flowers and birds in keeping with the tradition of Victorian porcelain painting. She also paints wonderfully realistic grapes. Her paintings require many layers of paint before they can be fired and a great deal of patience.

The Purple Orchid Inn and Proctor’s carries Eugenia’s porcelain. Eugenia also takes orders at home and can be reached through her web site at www.eugeniastudio.8m.com.
