Art Circuit Requirements
  1. All future work/artists will be juried into the circuit by a panel of 3 artists for three mediums: photography, watercolor and oil/acrylic.
  2. All work will be professional in appearance. Mats will be clean and frames will not be scratched or scuffed up. If the team leader finds your work unacceptable, it will not be hung.
  3. All members of the circuit will be responsible for transporting their work and be a contributing member of their group. If he/she is unable to do so, they will be asked to resign. If the member is going to be out of town, ill or unable to drop their paintings off at a location, it is the member's responsibility to bring their work to the team leader's house. Please thank them profusely for schlepping your work, and a small gift is never out of order.
  4. The role of team leader will be on a revolving yearly basis.
  5. The paintings should be compatible with the décor of the establishment. Ask the manager if they have a particular preference.
  6. All work should be fairly current to the artist. DO NOT show previously seen work at the same establishment.
  7. Artwork and presentation of it should blend with other members in your group. If you have a frame that stands out from the others, hang it somewhere as a solo piece. Brown or black frames tend to blend better.
  8. Group members need to discuss how best to display their work so that each one compliments the other.
  9. If you sell a piece, replace it immediately.
  10. You must use LAA CIRCUIT price tags.
  11. Giclée limited edition prints are acceptable if they are museum quality.
  12. The Circuit isn't a storage closet. If you have no new work to hang, then either paint some new paintings or think about resigning from the circuit. You are representing LAA and, more importantly, yourselves. Be and look professional.
  13. Artists show their best works with clean mats and compatible frames, when hanging with a group. Frames must have a cord in the back for hanging - no saw tooth hangers.
