Plein Air Competition Loralee Chapleau received third place in the Plein Air Competition
California State AwardsLinda Jeffery Sailors and Carolyn Lord were selected to be honored as the State of California’s “Artists of the Year” by Senate Majority Leader Ellen Corbett and Senator Mark DeSaulnier. They each have paintings hanging in the State Capitol this year. The public is invited to a reception on Wednesday, October 16 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Museum on Main in Pleasanton. Congratulations!

Young @ Art is Back for Fall. The Pleasanton
Firehouse’s popular youth gallery and art program,
Young @ Art, returns this fall with “Young
Inspirations” on Thursday, October 3, from 4:30 to
5:45. Participants will visit the group exhibit in the
gallery, select one or two paintings that particularly
inspire them, and create their own just-as-cool
artwork in the studio by borrowing the ideas. To

Young Rembrandts offers classes in public and private
schools at the end of the regular school day, as well
as in preschools and Community Centers on Saturdays.
As a Young Rembrandts Instructor, you must be
available to teach a minimum of 2 one-hour classes in
the afternoon each week. Instructors are assigned to
schools and usually stay with the same school
throughout the term.

Senior Fine Arts Program
The Senior Project at the Heritage Center in Livermore
is setting up a senior fine art program. They are
looking for all kinds of supplies (used is OK) to
begin the program around April 29.....brushes, easels,
art books, etc. They are also looking for artist
volunteers who might want to give them a few hours of
demonstration. If you are interested in donating
anything or volunteering some time, please contact
