New LAA Photography Show coming in the Fall.

The Livermore Arts Association will be sponsoring a Photography Show at the well-attended Bankhead Theater from November 6, 2018 - January 8, 2019.  Lisa and Ron Rigge are the Chairpersons of the show, so if you have questions about anything in regards to the show, please contact them at lbrigs202@gmail.com (Lisa) and rrigge@sbcglobal.net (Ron).

The show dates are as follows:

November 6, 2018   The show will be hung and judged
November 10, 2018 Reception 2-4 pm (this may change)
January 8, 2019    The Show will come down.
All entries will first be juried into the show via digital entries. However, awards will be given out after the show is hung and judged on November 6th. There will be over $500 in awards. Due to space limitations at the Bankhead Theater, there is no guarantee that all  photographs will be accepted into the show despite the fact that entry fees need to be charged to cover the cost of the show. This is standard practice for art galleries. However, we will do our very best to accept as many entries as we possibly can.
Our judge for the show is Mark Citret, of whom Ruth Bernhard wrote: I am touched by the reverence with which Mark’s eyes approach the world before him, the tenderness with which he sees subtle simple beauty that is nearly invisible to, and most often ignored by, passerbys.”
The theme of the show is Passageways, Boundaries and Transitions. The photographs can depict all of these, or one of these, in each photograph. The photograph can be literal or metaphorical, depicting a physical, emotional, mental or spiritual landscape within the theme. The photographs are not limited in subject matter or limited to any particular process. Black and white, color, and alternative processes will all be givenequal weight. The awards will go to those images which best express the theme of the show. More information about the delivery date and the entry form will be included in a future Portfolio. For those who would like to join the Livermore Art Association for lower fees into the show, please visit www.livermoreartassociation.org, then go to “Home”, then “Join LAA”.
