Classes and Workshops

Tina says that as a realistic artist she has always sought to capture the warmth and vibrancy of life. Tina has works in many private collections throughout the United States and Canada and has done commissions for a variety of organizations.  She is an award winner in local, regional, national and international shows, including several Best of Show Awards. She was accepted into the Pastel Society of America’s annual show in New York City this past year and has received six awards in The Pastel Journal’s annual competition.

The Young Artists’ Studio:  Artist Peggy Frank offers small group instruction in art to students ages 7 through high school and also is offering an adult class.  Projects include all kinds of drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture.  High school students working on advanced portfolios are welcome.  Peggy has been an art instructor in the Livermore Valley since 1980.  Contact her at (925) 443-8755 or email

PAL 2-Day Pastel Workshop

Tentative Workshop Title:
Portraiture & Landscapes in Pastels

Maryann Kot Colored Pencilclasses BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE,SAT SEPT 8TH, 9:30 to Noon for five weeks.  Beginners will learn the properties of the colored pencil, color theory, and how to create realistic drawings. Intermediate students will review basic principles of colored pencil and learn more colored pencil techniques. OR INTERMEDIATE, MON SEPT 10TH, 9:30-Noon for five weeks.  This session students will focus on botanical art and adding graphite to CP pieces.  Adult $135.  Bothwell Arts Center, 2466 8th Street, Livermore CA. Ceramicist Josh Latkin, a native of Pleasanton and a graduate of Livermore’s Granada High School and a Mendocino Coast resident since 1978 has developed new methods and techniques to accomplish the construction of very large ceramic vessels. He will be LAA Gallery’s special guest August 29 through mid-November and will be the the guest artist for LAA’s November 12th program. More on those events later.....
