He uses acrylic paint, makes his own stretcher bars, stretches his own canvas, and uses an odd collection of brushes, putty knives, scrapers, compressors and drywall and cement tools to paint with.

Although he’s sold several paintings in the last few years, he says he’s not trying to make money, he just likes to paint.

John’s career as an artist started in 2009. Inspired by the work of Carmel artists Mary Titus and Jonny Apodaca, he produces contemporary abstract pieces that evoke feelings of pleasure and happiness.
