I have worked in commercial photography for twenty years and operated my own commercial photography business for the last ten years. Photography was a hobby until I completed my BFA Degree in Visual Communication with a Specialization in Photo Illustration from Ohio University. One week after graduation, I was hired by the largest commercial photography studio in Cleveland Ohio as a Photographer’s Assistant. I was promoted to Photographer very quickly and began building my clientele. In December of 1995, I was recruited by another company to start-up and manage a digital photography studio (which I did for three and a half years). July 1, 1999, I officially launched McMillan Studios in Cleveland, Ohio. I had a 4700 square foot studio that allowed me to handle any job that came my way (such as photographing large automotive tool boxes with expensive automobiles and Playboy Playmates as models.

Recently, I relocated my business to Livermore, California and started all over again. Over the years, I have worked with many advertising agencies, large companies, and celebrities. I have produced images for product catalogs, brochures, web sites, magazines, tradeshows, calendars, product packaging, and many other uses locally, nationally, and internationally.

I have been shooting with digital backs and digital cameras since 1995. Since much of my work is used in tradeshows and on signage, it made sense for me to expand my services into large format archival printing. I can now print 44 inches wide by 96 inches (8 feet) long on all kinds of papers, fabrics and materials. This allows me to photograph, retouch, and print my images… ensuring that the finished product looks the way it is intended to look.
