NM Snow in Front Yard
I have a lifelong love of art that began when my mother
enrolled me in a still life charcoal class when I was
five. I continued taking art classes in high school and
college but working and raising my family interrupted my
studies. Since 2002 I have resumed working as an artist.
My first love is Impressionism and the way color and light
play to convey an impression or suggestion of a moment. I
have tried a variety of media including: acrylics, oils,
watercolors, pastels and even egg tempura from a 13th
century text. Acrylics and pastels are the most forgiving
and the humanistic core in life drawing and portraits have
the most meaning for me.
The last few years I have expanded my work to include the
beauty in still life and California rural landscapes I
grew up in.
