Morning Glory |
I have a dancer’s soul that leads me to find ways to
capture a reflection of the spirit in the object before
me. My vision is a sculpting of space using form, light,
texture and color. Photography allows that vision to take
shape and may often be the end product of my artistic
expression. However, I am also exploring the use of other
media when I feel the photo cannot express all that I see.
My work draws from a wealth of life experiences which
includes the following: a strong connection with nature
while growing up on a farm; immersion in African and Asian
cultures through Peace Corps and life events;
studying/performing creative arts (dance, improvisation,
photography, watercolor) and martial arts (Tai Chi and
Karate); and years of work in Pleasanton Schools as a
school psychologist and counselor.
Currently, with the gift of time afforded to those
retired, I am able to go back to the creative activities
of my youth. I am performing with a traditional Hula
school (Halau Makana Lani) in Dublin and starting to
participate in local art shows. At the Spring 2010
Pleasanton Art League show, one photo earned an honorable
mention ribbon. Sharing my vision through photos and
other media is my passion.
