Christine Lusty, born Christine Susan Noell in April of 1985 to Gary and Nancy-Lee Noell, grew up in the small town of Elgin, Oregon.  Her father, a custom saddle maker and Jack-of-all-trades, worked long hours to make ends meet for the family.  Her mother, an aspiring children’s book author, worked for many years in the office of the family business before having to pursue work outside the home.

Christine is the youngest of four daughters, each fiercely independent.  Her eldest sister, Stephanie, joined the National Guard and is currently preparing for her second tour of duty in the Middle East.  Suzanne, the next youngest, is a stay at home mother running a day care out of her home in Elgin.  Christine idolized Suzanne as a small child and found many of her talents through emulating her older sister.  Because of Suzanne, Christine explored art and music, finding a passion for both. Melanie, the sister closest to Christine in age, lives the next town over from their home town of Elgin and works at and attends college at Eastern Oregon University.

Christine is near completely self taught.  During high school she would squeeze as many art classes as she could into each day and often hang around after school tinkering in the art room.  Immediately after high school Christine packed up and headed for California where her parents had originated.  In the Bay Area, she attended one year at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising before realizing that it was not the field she wanted to pursue.

After college Christine pursed several short lived apprenticeships in different genre of art.  She worked closely with a tattoo artist and a sculptor.  With a desire to break into the fine arts world, Christine realized her need to diversify from the sketch artist she was into something more marketable and so she purchased some acrylic paints and a roll of canvas and began teaching herself to paint.  The first several months were grueling work learning consistencies and blending techniques.  Finally confident with the skills she’d developed, Christine began marketing her work in March 2009 with a website and her very first show, ‘The Essential Nude’ at the Bothwell Center for the Arts in Livermore, CA.

In June of 2008 Christine married Steve Lusty, long time boyfriend and close confidant.  Thanks to his love and support she is now pursuing her claim in the art world.
