Lawrence's interest in nature photography stems from his passion for nature. Born and raised in Detroit, he has always sought any opportunity to escape the crowded city. From a day hike to a camping trip, Lawrence has always sought to find himself, closer to the natural world.

Lawrence's camera has been a natural companion on his adventures, which lead him to seek the beauty of the American Southwest, and eventually, the majestic, diverse landscapes and wildlife of California.

Since settling in the Livermore Valley, Lawrence has studied the California landscape using vintage film cameras, as well as state-of-the-art digital techniques. His photography has been exhibited in several juried shows, and won numerous awards. Hand-made, signed prints are available for sale through is web site, as well as at local exhibitions.

His greatest hope is that he may share with you, his passion focused through his lens, and help you feel some of the emotion he felt when he looked upon the landscape, and froze the moment by tripping the shutter.
